How we review
We read public reviews for food poisoning, unsafe food, allergen issues and hygiene problems, and check every report from visitors. If a restaurant is not on the map, it does not mean we found a problem.
A member of our team reads the restaurant’s public online reviews, like any visitor would: the negative ones (1 to 3 stars) from the last 12 months.
For each food-safety problem we find (food poisoning, unsafe food, allergen issue or hygiene concern), we note only its type, how serious it is and the month of the review.
A restaurant appears as Low concern only once a member of our team has checked it and found none of these problems. Its page shows the month of that check. We check each place again regularly.

We checked this place and found no serious food-safety problem.
How we decide which places to showDerived from unverified sources: online reviews and visitor reports.

Abroad, a menu can be hard to read, and some dishes upset a traveler’s stomach more often than others. Take a photo of the menu in safeat: every dish is explained in your language, with a dot for how risky it usually is.
From above and in good light, or choose one you already took. The menu can be in another language or another alphabet.
Green, orange or red, depending on how the dish is usually prepared. Raw meat, fish and seafood are red. Salads, ice and dishes served cold are often orange, depending on the country.
Its name, its main ingredients, how it is cooked and what makes it riskier, in English, French, Spanish or German.
Free with a safeat account, up to 20 menus a month. Written by AI from your photo, so it can be wrong: it is about the dish in general, not the restaurant, and it is not medical or allergy advice.
